IPL Acne Treatment
‘Using the healing power of light for clearer skin’
IPL Acne Treatments are a great way to clear up your skin by treating acne breakouts and acne scarring using Intense Pulsed Light.
What is IPL Treatment and how does it work?
IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. The treatment uses a broad spectrum of light energy to penetrate through the layers of your skin. The light energy destroys damaged skin cells, bacteria and hair follicles making it a useful method for scar reduction treatments, hair removal and IPL acne treatment and acne scarring reduction.
The treatment typically lasts about 30 minutes, afterwards you will probably have some redness but smoother skin. The IPL treatment triggers a healing response, so after the redness subsides and new skin regenerates you will have more even, smoother skin.
How does IPL compare to laser?
The principle behind IPL treatment and laser treatments are similar – the main difference being IPL uses a broad spectrum of light whereas a laser uses only one wavelength. This means that IPL has a better generic application, and laser is more specialised for treating certain things.
Both are great technologies and can be useful for the right person and the right issue.
